At the beginning of the Eighties, mechanical feeler calibers
were the most advanced result of studies in the sector.
Time has taught us that electronics - eliminating any physical
contact with the bottle or vial - could be more flexible
and accurate (since it is not necessary to measure the dimension
to be controlled by contact).
We
then introduced optic fibers to control the total height
and diameters that now we would define as almost "marginal";
later we began to use application software that was too
complicated to program and unable to save historical data
of older production. Now our installations are mechanically
very similar to the ones we had in the '80s/'90s but with
much better electronic management; the historical aspects
of use and results make the systems of vision and control
easy to expand and our technical personnel is able to implement
constant development. Now our personnel is not merely "technical"
but highly specialized, capable of adjusting a flame or
a PLC; familiar with mechanical problems through the daily
use of a computer keyboard. A line of this type is also
equipped with the latest computers.
Today,
you will find on our vial production installation:
- a
TV camera (mounted on the threader) to monitor the diameter
of the bottle neck, olive and tube; interfaced with a
computer that checks 100% of the parameter settings and
"corrects" the amount of flame to devote to the individual
vial, with continuous adjustment of 4 different burners;
the result is a production with 100% control of the dimensions,
which can be guaranteed to the user with tolerances reduced
even by as much as 50%;
- more
uniform production lots and fewer rejects during filling;
mechanical feeler caliber interfaced with the above-mentioned
computer; control of 100% of the total heights;
- TV
camera (installed immediately after the silkscreen printing
zone) for control of: printing (reject of unprinted vials);
too much printing (heavy masses of color); control for
difference in quantity of enamel and other minor printing
defects;
- TV
camera (located just before the packing zone) for control
of: external diameter of olive; external diameter of neck;
diameter of body; height of neck; height of olive; presence
of color break and its height from the bottom and presence
of code rings and their height from the bottom.
